May Madness

May has been a busy month for the Jackson family. The soccer season came to an end mid-month. The boys all really enjoyed playing this season and did very well. We are quite happy to have our Saturday''s back for other activities.
The sun has come out a time or two this month and we have been able to pull out the water guns and sprinklers to cool off. The kids would really like it if they could do this every day, maybe next month!
Our baby turned 4 this month. It is amazing how fast time flies. Carmen is so proud to be 4 and is already claiming 4 1/2 after just a week. We have learned that 4 year olds do lots of grown up things...make their bed right when they wake up, get dressed without help or being asked, go to school without crying, set the table without help, get in their carseat without complaining, cut their own pancakes, brush their own teeth, clean up their toys without help (unless it is a really big mess!) and we await many more. We have laughed all week as she has told us how grown up she is and how many great things she can do now! We had Dora the Explorer Party for her and her friends. They each had their own backpack and map and we went on a Dora adventure. Carmen loved it and I think all the girls had a good time. I had fun putting it together but and very relieved that it is over!
I had the great opportunity to go to the Zoo with Benji and his kindergarten class. It is fun to see how excited the kids get to see all the animals and how some kids can sit and watch forever and other kids are off to the next animal. I enjoyed being with Benji and some of his cute friends. The animals were all very active which was great entertainment for the kids. I think the rain the day before helped us out there.
We were very proud of Eric last week as he received his Bear in Scouts. He works so hard and is always eager to accomplish all that he can in the scouting program. He is now working to see how many arrow points he can earn before he is a Weebelo in September!
Well, the month flew by and much fun was had but we are now on to the adventures that June has in store for us!
